Role Type: Permanent; Full-time
As a Senior Audit Manager you will end-to-end manage and deliver audit projects of large size and/or high complexity in line with ANZ Internal Audits annual audit plan. This will comprise leading and managing teams to assess the effectiveness of risk management activities, frameworks, key processes and controls within specific business areas and projects to help shape the current and future direction of ANZs activities.
You will bring an understanding and interest in risk management (e.g. accountability and governance, risk frameworks and controls, business acumen), as well as an awareness of the current regulatory environment, which will be developed and complemented by learning about key frameworks, business areas and activities.
You will build key capabilities in identifying and managing risks and you will also have an important role in developing tools and capability across the ANZ Internal Audit function, providing training and coaching to lead and develop team members and colleagues. You will need to work closely with colleagues across the global team to evolve and influence the teams approach to assessing the effectiveness of risk management throughout ANZ.
You will draw on and develop your excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, working alongside and supporting business management to develop sustainable solutions that enable better management of risk exposures and that support achievement of ANZs strategic objectives. Your executive communication and presentation skills will also be commensurately leveraged and developed further.
Through these activities you will have the opportunity to contribute to ANZs response and approach to managing its diverse risk exposures, as well as being sought out for your subject matter expertise.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Team and project management: Experience in leading teams and delivering effective project management within the financial services industry, with delivery of successful outcomes. This includes demonstrable capability of working with and influencing multiple stakeholders across geographies and across complex and sometimes ambiguous subject matter.

Staff development: Proven experience in developing staff, setting clear performance expectations and providing well-considered feedback to support mutually beneficial outcomes.

Stakeholder relationships: Track record in developing and cultivating effective, supportive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Personal accountability: Independent self-starter with track record of proactively owning, managing and delivering responsibilities to conclusion, and developing innovative solutions to identified challenges.

Analytic and strategic capability: Ability to conceptualise, understand and interpret both high-level themes and detailed findings to develop impactful conclusions, leveraging and interpreting data to drive insights and audit process efficiency.

Resilience: Experience in supporting and overcoming resistance to change, and adaptable to new environments and subjects.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening and interpreting capabilities. Excellent negotiating, influencing and conflict management skills.

Qualifications: Tertiary qualified, preferably with Professional (CPA/CA) and / or Post Graduate qualifications with technically relevant skills (i.e. accounting, audit, operational risk, compliance).
