About Learning Transformations Unit
The Learning Transformation Unit provides professional development and support for teaching staff across all modes of learning. It focuses on the transformations needed in Swinburne’s learning technologies and teaching practices to meet student needs and contributes to the achievement of the University’s 2025 vision to become a leading university of science, technology and innovation.

About the job
We are seeking a Senior Learning Technologist to join us and implement leading-edge projects focused on the effective use of technology to enhance learning and teaching across the broader University. In this newly created role, you will work on piloting, scaling-up, embedding and evaluating learning technologies in order to achieve successful use of the University Learning Management System (LMS). Reporting directly to the Manager, Learning Technologies and Innovations, you will work closely with other Learning Transformations staff. You will have the opportunity to collaborate across a range of educational technology projects, associated with the Transforming Learning strategy and the Canvas LMS. Key to your success in this role, will be your ability to liaise extensively with academic, Pathways and Vocational Education (PAVE) and professional staff and will exercise considerable judgement, initiative, discretion and independence while interacting with the professional and academic staff from Faculties and external vendors.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Requires knowledge or training equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

• Demonstrated experience in working at a high level with Learning Management Systems and associated systems.

• Demonstrated commitment to, and experience in, technology-enhanced learning in tertiary education (higher education and/or pathway and vocational education (PAVE).

• Ability to support academic and teaching staff in the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and educational technologies for online and blended learning and assessment.

• Demonstrated ability to lead small project teams to meet key objectives within agreed timelines.
