About the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Swinburne Professional as a Senior Learning Designer to develop training materials. The senior learning designer will be responsible for working with a range of stakeholders, academics, assessors, facilitators, compliance and client organisations to develop accredited and non-accredited training materials. With strong curriculum writing skills this is a hands-on role developing and maintaining contemporary learning materials. 

Reporting to the Head of Learning, the Senior Learning Designer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Swinburne Professional’s public and consulting learning content and materials meet and exceed the expectations of private and public organisations in Australia. 

To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in organisational learning and development, through the development and implementation of various training programs. You will also possess a good understanding of the ASQA packaging requirements for business, leadership, management, human resources, project management and coaching qualifications – from Certificate IV through to Graduate Certificate level. 

You will bring a can-do attitude to the workplace and the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders (from academics to L&D professionals in our client organisations) to develop actionable, interactive learning experiences that are engaging and effective in transferring skills from the training room into the workplace.

About the department
Swinburne Professional is an organisational unit reporting to the Vice President of Engagement. Swinburne Professional has been developed to service the needs of industry across the whole of the Swinburne community, acting as the gateway for industry interaction with the University, working with Engagement, the Higher Education and PAVE divisions. Products and services include brokering commercial opportunities, consultancy, learning and development products and workplace training. SIS acts on behalf of the university to develop strong industry partnerships and alliances and from this to develop commercial income streams for faculties and schools.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Ability to liaise with Swinburne and client representatives to support the creation of customised content, assessment and learning technologies
  • Demonstrated capability to design and produce VET accredited and non-accredited training products for corporate clients and business professionals
