About the Role 
The Student Placements team, in collaboration with academics, students, and industry partners, is dedicated to providing high-quality Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities and programs for Swinburne students. The team's goal is to offer a diverse range of WIL opportunities to enhance Swinburne's reputation for employability and position WIL as a significant factor for prospective students when choosing their tertiary education institution. 

Reporting to the Manager of Employer Engagement, the Team Leader of Student Engagement & Experience is responsible for engaging with students regarding key WIL programs like Professional Placements and Internships, as well as overseeing related WIL processes and procedures. The Team Leader also manages relationships with third-party providers to facilitate external WIL opportunities and leads a team of placement officers to deliver placement services for various WIL programs across the university. In addition, a big focus of the Team Leader is to ensures the team's day-to-day operations run smoothly, focusing on timely delivery of high-quality services and fostering a culture of continuous process improvement. The Team Leader will be responsible for fostering collaboration and teamwork to achieve desired outcomes. 

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 
  • Substantial prior experience in and knowledge of the university sector, including experience with support for students and familiarity with principles / practices of student engagement
  • Demonstrated experience working in WIL, co-operative education or industry-based learning, and familiarity with associated processes, quality and compliance imperatives
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team and achieving outstanding levels of service
  • Highly-developed communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with and gain commitment from diverse internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree with subsequent relevant knowledge and experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
