About the Role 
The Student Engagement team at Swinburne University of Technology are looking for a Student Success Advisor to join their team!

As the Student Success Advisor, you will be responsible for assisting students in adapting to and succeeding in tertiary study. Working as part of a wider team, you will have the opportunity to coach, advise and monitor students to help them complete their course and pathways through to further education or employment. You will be involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of activities designed to improve student engagement, enhance academic attainment and reduce student attrition, including self-access resources, facilitated group activities, and one-on-one student consultations.  

The position will maintain a collaborative working relationship with staff in allocated University’s Schools and liaise with other Swinburne service areas (e.g. Learning and Academic Skills and AccessAbility) to deliver tailored advice, discipline-specific workshops, and effective cross-service student referrals.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 
  • Experience in the development, implementation and delivery of high-quality student engagement programs with demonstrated outcomes.
  • Experience in advising and coaching students to achieve educational goals and success.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels with compassion and respect.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, healthy and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a degree qualification with at least four years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in tertiary education; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.  
  • Education or other relevant qualification (e.g. Community Services or Careers) is preferred.
