About the job
This position will be responsible for conducting Research on the Economics of Innovation and Science. The Senior Research Fellow will work as part of a team of applied economists (Alfons Palangkaraya, Elizabeth Webster and Russell Thomson) on a range of research projects including investigating the relationship between firm innovation and performance and the role of the government. 

There will be considerable scope to pursue own research interests and research output is anticipated to be published in top international peer reviewed journals. The team publish in RAND journal of economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of International Economics, Strategic Management Journal and others.

The position will be located in the Centre for Transformative Innovation at Swinburne’s Hawthorn Campus. 

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• A PhD in Economics with specialisation in microeconometrics or international trade
• A demonstrated high degree of organisational and administrative skill to manage complex research projects including the ability to design and conduct research within a team environment, the ability to identify complementary expertise, and the ability to initiate appropriate collaborations
• Demonstrated research project operational attributes including personal resourcefulness, individual initiative, ability to work independently and the ability to complete research deliverables with tight deadlines.
