About the job
This position will contribute to the field experiment of a horticulture innovation Australia (HIA) project- Investigating novel glass and photovoltaic technologies in protected cropping. The purpose of this position is to research into applying advanced smart glass (SG) and renewable energy technologies to evaluate their cost-effectiveness and impact on the productivity of vegetables under protected cropping in Australian conditions and recommend optimum solutions for the growers when they choose to use advanced energy efficient technologies. This role also requires significant contributions to the Centre’s research output in high impact publications.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• PhD in Physics or relevant fields
• Demonstrated capability in conducting high impact research
• Knowledge in optical engineering and diffractive optics
• Knowledge in building numerical model to simulate light distribution inside a building
