About the job
The Pro Vice-Chancellor is integral to the implementation and success of the University objectives and faculty-led initiatives and projects. He/She will play a key transformational leadership role in realising our vision within the faculty and across the university.

The position will be expected to develop strategic partnerships with domestic and international stakeholders in order to build Swinburne’s operations and reputation in teaching and research as an Industry 4.0 leader. Key to Swinburne’s success in this endeavour is our commitment to STEM transformation and thought leadership across relevant academic areas, and through student recruitment, outreach and the broader student experience. Also, as a proven leader you will be expected to drive and facilitate continuous improvement of Faculty’s research performance and reputation by building on existing world class research centres and engaging actively with the new research institutes. As the Pro Vice-Chancellor of our Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, you will play a key role in creating and developing the workforce who are empowered to make decisions that deliver on our vision and strategy.

As a member of the Swinburne’s Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Group, you will collaborate closely and in a positive manner with other Faculties and areas of the university to engage on the 2025 Vision and Strategy.

About you
You are best described as a transformational leader with an established reputation of leading organisations through times of change, innovation and growth. As a strategic thinker, you are able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver on key strategic initiatives and objectives. As a proven leader with a background in STEM, you will champion a collective, whole of University approach to create future ready learners across the whole Learning and Research ecosystem within STEM. You will be able to establish and facilitate robust research collaborations with industry leading to translational outcomes and impact, and other outcomes of benefit to the Faculty. With your strong industry connections, across the science/engineering/technology disciplines, you foster strong tactical relationships that will support student graduate outcomes and employability both nationally and internationally.
