We have multiple casual opportunities for Maternal and Child Health Nurses.
This is a great opportunity to make a difference in your community, utilising your knowledge of child development and your compassion and interpersonal skills to establish supportive relationships with families in the municipality.
In this position you’ll be responsible for providing a family centred Maternal and Child Health Service that maximises the health potential of children 0-6 years and their families within the municipality. As a universal MCH Nurse, through centre consultations and home visits, you’ll monitor and promote the health, growth and development of young children, which includes physical, social, emotional/mental and intellectual development of young children by providing support, guidance and information. This will include providing early intervention which is supported by identifying children, parents and families experiencing vulnerability, empowering them to act and facilitating the earliest possible opportunity for engagement with services.
The hourly rate ranges from $68.86 to $70.32 per hour (including casual loading) + a qualification allowance + 10% superannuation. We have multiple positions available.

To be successful in this position, you’ll need excellent communications skills for working effectively with a diverse range of families, groups and service providers. Additionally you’ll need strong time management skills, assessment and referral skills and an understanding of legislation relating to Mandatory Reporting of child abuse.
