About the Job
Led by Swinburne University of Technology, working in partnership with CSIRO and Germany’s ARENA 2036, the Victorian Hydrogen Hub (VH2) will bring together researchers, industry partners and business. Testing, trialling and demonstrating new and emerging hydrogen technologies, the Victorian Hydrogen Hub will support sustainable manufacturing practices and the ability to store clean energy from renewable sources, striving to create a sustainable future for all.

This Research Fellow role will form part of the core multidisciplinary research team at VH2. This role will work at the interface between technology and industry and have the aptitude to undertake solution focused research as part of a broader team. We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow to develop and grow digital simulation research, development, and deployment across the hydrogen ecosystem. The ideal candidate is expected to bring deep knowledge of multi-tier and multidisciplinary simulation. The ideal candidate should also have experience in engaging with stakeholders and effectively communicating the benefits of digital technologies as tools for exploring technology, business and community understanding.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• A PhD in a relevant field such as computer science, software engineering or relevant field.
• Competitive track record and recognition for quality research outputs evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, and/or industry links.
• Research experience in at least one of the following areas: Energy systems, computational modelling, and multidisciplinary simulations.
• Experience in developing models that can integrate data streams across a variety of different domains

Key Responsibilities
• Investigating, leading, and developing the concept of digital-twins for the hydrogen ecosystem
• Investigating and developing models and conducting simulations to support the concept of digital-twins for hydrogen
• Maintaining and enhancing a strong knowledge profile of tools and the techniques available to integrate data streams across a variety of domains including finance, technoeconomics and technical into a single simulation or model
• Demonstrating the impact of simulations and digital twins in the hydrogen sector for enabling the comparison of approaches and optimizing systems that are otherwise impossible to achieve.
• Working closely within a team to combine knowledge, provide advice and support and develop original project-based research
