What we are looking for

The GM Shared Services Technology is responsible for the leadership, planning, development, integration, testing, delivery and support for all the technology solutions supporting the Legal Services, Risk and Compliance teams, Finance, Supply Chain, Workforce Management, P&P and Digital employee experience. The GM will also be responsible for driving outstanding customer service and productivity growth within internal business.  This role is a single point of senior contact for the business as well as key business managers and stakeholders of platforms outlined below.

 

Key responsibilities in the role include but not limited to:

  • Reporting to the CIO this role is primarily responsible for:
  • Ensuring the delivery of the systems development components of the shared services works programme in line with “On time and Quality” parameters in order to meet Business objectives.
  • Strengthening the formulation of appropriate technical solutions with improved speed to market, operational robustness, scalability and alignment with the agreed business objectives.
  • In partnership with other Technology Heads, constant improvement in the development of a high performance team that successfully deliver the agreed works program.
  • The establishment of effective working relationships with key ‘intra’ and ‘inter’ department stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Ensuring the deployment and alignment of works undertaken by the team is in line with business Application / Enterprise Architectures, standards, methods and practices.
  • Identify improvement areas and foster the implementation of systems development methods and practices that support the IT vision.
  • Engage other management team members in the fulfilment of the responsibilities and activities of the systems development function.
  • Financial accountability and associated year-on-year Total Cost of Ownership / productivity improvement.
  • Manage the Technology finances, including planning, monitoring and reporting against the OPEX and CAPEX plans and actual results. This includes operational management of the financial transactions and expenses within the entire team.
  • Carry out all busiess activities in a way that gives due consideration to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, minimizes the cost of legal and regulatory risk and maximizes business opportunities for The Star Entertainment Group.
  • Ensure self-awareness and familiarity with compliance obligations and responsibilities relevant to this role.
  • Actively encourage, mentor, coach and supervise employees to promote compliant behaviour.
  • Ensure that staff fully understands relevant compliance obligations and responsibilities, how these apply to their jobs and monitor that staff are carrying out their tasks in compliance with them. 
  • Where appropriate implement procedures and processes to safeguard compliance for The Star Entertainment Group.
  • Report and escalate all compliance failures and breaches using established The Star Entertainment Group compliance reporting procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate Company Values and behaviours.
  • Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct, all internal policies and procedures and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of other team members, contractors, labour hire, guests and visitors through co-operation with management, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and the responsibilities outlined in the WHS Management System (SAFE 205 - WHS Responsibilities, Authorities and Accountabilities) which is available on the intranet.

Be your best self
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Accredited tertiary qualifications in an Information Technology, Business or a related discipline.
  • Solid management background, with 12 years’ experience in application development.
  • Experience in managing the delivery of large programs of work ie: >$10M/pa in various organisations.
  • Broad IT program delivery knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and complex problem solving skills
  • Expert strategic planning, research & development and project management capabilities
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across executive, business and technology staff
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering/supporting major business solutions into production/implementation
  • Extensive understanding of the IT&T industry, as well as technology trends and related practices
  • Solid understanding of the relevant legislation and associated regulations
