Queen's Wharf Brisbane – The world-class entertainment precinct that captures the heart of Brisbane!

Expected to open in the first half of 2023, this integrated resort will be a game-changer – creating a vibrant new tourism playground within the CBD and putting Brisbane on the global map. 

Sitting on the Brisbane River’s edge, opposite South Bank, this development’s stunning mix of heritage and contemporary architecture will maximise Brisbane’s yearly 300+ days of sunshine, with dining, entertainment and recreational options to suit every taste and budget.

This development is delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture between lead partner, The Star Entertainment Group, and its Hong-Kong based partners, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium.

We are looking for an experienced General Manager Food & Beverage and Events to join the executive leadership team based in Brisbane. 

About your new role

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the General Manager Food & Beverage and Events is accountable for the development and execution of commercial strategies and initiatives that contribute to revenue growth for the Food, Beverage, Events and Entertainment division.

 

The role provides overall leadership and management for the Food, Beverage, Events and Entertainment teams and defines the service and operating culture of the division.

  • Driving innovative promotions, menus and concepts, creating a destination of choice for the customer. 
  • Ensuring a fresh, positive, and exciting environment where safety and flawless delivery of product/service excellence are paramount. 

 

You will also play a lead role partnering with the project team, ensuring that all preopening work for the property is seamless allowing the group to open on time, on budget and achieve the business and departmental objectives ensuring operations are conducted in accordance with the highest standards.

This role is ideal for a thought leader who is passionate about design and delivery for food and beverage, who is looking to drive innovation and change for a key leisure and dinning precinct that will place Brisbane in the forefront of leisure entertainment.

  • To be successful in this role you will have Strong experience in a facilities management role, this role would suit someone from a senior manager of facilities, operations manager of facilities or senior facilities manager background.

 

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Commercial and business acumen. With a key strength in identifying and delivering on commercial opportunities.
  • Development and implementation experience with impactful and transformational business strategies to outpace the competition. Sound knowledge of sales and marketing principles and objectives.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ Food & Beverage industry experience in a progressive leadership role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a commercial, hospitality or business field desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge in the application of best practice in Food & Beverage, Entertainment, Events, and other service–based industries.
  • Understanding of relevant statutory and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and resourcing people and products, performance coaching and management, and controlling labour costs and operating expenses.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing productive relationships and managing and driving change.
  • Responsible Gaming Liaison Officer (RGLO) training preferred.
