The Star Sydney is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Banquet Manager.

The Star Event Centre is an industry leader in events, being one of the most sophisticated venues in Sydney. Delivering exciting events such as Tradeshows, Exhibitions, Cocktail functions, Conferences and Gala Dinners.

Reporting to the Banquet Manager, you will lead and own the day-to-day operations for the Event Centre and The Star.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Go above and beyond client expectations
  • Leading, motivating and engaging our diverse and large team to continuously deliver exceptional service
  • Supervise the food and beverage stock, controlling costs, profit and loss expenses and wages through effective staffing levels
  • Assisting in the recruitment, coaching and development of the team
  • Communicating effectively with the business and our guest to ensure smooth running of events

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive banquets/event management experience in a high-volume, dynamic venue is highly regarded
  • Strong product knowledge including wine and spirits is advantageous
  • Confidence to lead a large and diverse team
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster that can include weekends, evenings and public holidays
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol NSW
