Aged Care Support Worker. Permanent Part Time & Casual - Cairns

About the Role

Working within Cairns and surrounding local areas, you will empower the elderly Australian's accessing our services to continue living independently in their own homes. You will provide assistances such as personal care, domestic assistance (light house cleaning), transport and social support. We are looking for candidates that are passionate about making a difference in their local community and doing work that matters.

We have Permanent Part Time and Casual positions available with flexible hours mainly between 7am-6pm Monday - Friday. You will typically support multiple clients per day, so a valid Australian Drivers Licence is a requirement for this role and travel between clients is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities

• Social supports inclusive of support to attend medical appointments, social activities in the local community, building/maintaining social networks
• Domestic assistance consisting of light cleaning duties, changing of linen, washing/laundry
• In-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily living
• Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and well-being (for example, identification of wound care needs, skin integrity, etc)

  Skills & Experience

• A current Australian drivers licence and a reliable vehicle with minimum 3rd party insurance
• Certificate III in Aged Care or similar and experience working with the ageing community will be highly regarded
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• The ability to develop positive relationships and to support individual care plans 
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check.
