Disability Support Leader. Permanent Full Time - Central Coast

About the role

As a Disability Support Leader, you will be overseeing a day program designed to help our clients live the life they want through a wide range of activities and lifestyle programs. You will provide personalised coaching and mentoring to Disability Support Workers on a Permanent Full-Time basis, so they can uplift their skills and knowledge as disability support professionals.

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Team Leader or similar within disability service delivery and will join a forward-thinking organisation where you will demonstrate your leadership skills, experience in the disability sector, and focus on strength-based practice and empowerment. The position is key to implementation of the Active Support Practice Framework, and will coach teams to embed and maintain person centred active supports.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team and provide advice and supervision to achieve positive outcomes
• Ensure staff are skilled and knowledgeable in the delivery of contemporary disability services guided by the people we support  
• Facilitate and manage a partnership approach with families and supporters
• Manage the running of services including budgets, compliance, reporting and staff ratios
• Collaborate with key business partners to ensure national consistency in delivering a positive service
• Manage, monitor, and report on incidents and complaints
• Communicate and act in ways that are consistent with Life Without Barriers’ values
• Participate and share the responsibility of an on-call roster

Skills & Experience

• Experience in Lifestyle or Community support is highly regarded
• Leadership position within the delivery of services to people with a disability
• Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services or relevant experience will be highly regarded
• Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Established influencing and negotiation skills
• A passion and drive to use your leadership capability to make an impact in the sector
• Ability to think creatively and use initiative
