About the?Organisation

Every day, Life Without Barriers provides support and care to children and young people, as we work collaboratively with families, carers, and communities, to ensure they have the environment they deserve to grow. With a focus on ensuring safety and respect, this is an opportunity to make a positive and meaningful difference in these young lives and help pave a brighter future.

Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose organisation of 8,000 employees working in more than 500 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers. Join a community of people dedicated to breaking down barriers.

We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.

 About the Role

Join our small but well supported team of committed therapists, focussed on providing intensive family therapy based on Multi-Systemic Therapy (Child Abuse and Neglect) framework in Tamworth NSW. Enjoy a welcoming regional community located on the traditional lands of the Kamilaroi, Gamilaroi, and Gomeroi people where you will have the opportunity to experience the world class Tamworth Country Music festival, street buskers, award-winning restaurants set amongst a laid back, easy-going lifestyle.

As a Clinician within our Multi-Systemic Therapy (Child Abuse and Neglect) team, you will provide in-home clinical services to families, negotiate therapeutic goals and use systemic resources to assist in meeting these goals. The mission of MST-CAN is to keep families together and ensure that children are safe, while reducing mental health difficulties and increasing social supports.

This is an internationally recognised program, specifically designed to treat 6-17 year-olds and their families. MST-CAN is unique, in that it supports all family members to be involved with treatment, which reduces the risk of children entering out-of-home care.

This is a challenging role that requires outside the box thinking; and a “Whatever it takes” attitude.  Having said that we'll invest in you with full MST training and opportunities to learn, we will evolve your practice and provide you with the opportunity to work in ways that make a genuine difference for vulnerable children and families within the community.
