Disability Support Workers. Permanent Part Time - Clayton

We have 2 Part time positions available.  You will be responsible for providing active support with activities of daily living and developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Plans’ including personal care.

The house profile: Our group home in Clayton is home to male and 4 female residents…and their cat named Sandy.

We are looking for hard working, focussed and team orientated people to provide active support to the residents.  Our residents have high support needs with complex medical requirements. Experience supporting clients with mild behaviours I also beneficial. Our expectations is you will engage with our residents and their respective support networks, including families.

The  available roster lines are:

Roster splits: 40:00/52:00 – This roster is s mix of morning & afternoon shifts. No Sleep over shifts.

Roster splits: 44:30/48:30 – This roster is s mix of morning & afternoon shifts. No Sleep over shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the day-to-day running of the house
• Develop planned activities in line with policies and guidelines
• Liaise with family members, medical services, departmental services, and external services to help meet client needs
• Administer medication treatments and therapies according to prescribed protocols or otherwise, seek appropriate medical assistance
• Implement development programs and identify and support learning opportunities

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certificate 4 in Disability
• A current First Aid Certificate
• A current unrestricted Driver Licence
• A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disabilities
• A hands-on leader and team player with positive behaviour support experience and leadership capabilities able to actively promote and provide best practice support to clients whilst supervising and mentoring other team members
• The ability to develop a positive relationship with service users and to support their Individual Personal Plan
• Ability to apply behaviour management strategies in a complex and challenging environment
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential
• Demonstrated compliance with NDIS requirements for Disability Support Workers
