In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing actionable strategies for Data Management, Data Governance, Analytics, and Reporting to support the University's broader vision and strategic objectives. You will ensure that data is effectively harnessed, managed, and reported securely, while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will oversee data engineering, reporting, analytics, and data governance functions to extract actionable insights from data across all University domains. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders is essential to drive impactful business insights. You will also be accountable for developing and updating policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data integrity and security.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 
  • Extensive experience in a leadership role related to data management, analytics, or IT with a proven track record of developing and implementing data strategies, ideally with experience in the Higher Education sector.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, data architecture, and data analytics techniques.
  • Experience with data privacy and security regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead data-centric culture within Swinburne.
  • Highly developed analytical, strategic and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to research and analyse complex information.

Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science or Business Analytics)
