About the role

This a newly created position reporting to General Counsel.  The Correspondence Coordinator, Office of Ministerial Correspondence, plays a crucial role in supporting the General Counsel and the Office of Ministerial Correspondence team. You will be responsible for preparing, writing, and managing official correspondence to regulatory and statutory bodies, ensuring high-quality responses are delivered in a timely manner.

This is a permanent full time role, location flexible.  You can work from where you are most productive, whether that be from your home or one of our offices, however, there may be times where you are required in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the collection of information and data for official correspondence
  • Manage correspondence to meet accuracy, presentation, and timeliness requirements
  • Research and prepare written materials, including briefings, reports, submissions, and responses to various issues
  • Provide advice and support to staff in establishing and maintaining efficient records management systems
  • Maintain inboxes and correspondence databases to track and respond to items within set timeframes
  • Monitor and address complex or sensitive enquiries and issues
  • Stay informed of sector developments, particularly government changes
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally

 Skills & Experience

  • Degree or qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent expertise
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • Strong communication and advanced writing skills
  • Knowledge of Parliamentary and Government processes
  • Collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to handle sensitive material with integrity and confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check.
