About the Role

The Senior Shared Services Finance Officer is a pivotal leadership position within our Shared Services team. Working closely with key internal stakeholders and teams, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that requests for goods and services along with invoice processing including payment processing adhere to organisational policies, procedures, timetables and deadlines such that payments of vendor invoices are processed timely and accurately, and fully comply with all relevant statutory and taxation requirements.

As the Senior Shared Services Finance Officer, you will collaborate with the Procure to Pay Lead, overseeing a large team of Shared Services Finance Officers. Your role will require a heightened level of transactional finance knowledge and broader finance expertise to facilitate the timely and accurate execution of transactional finance functions.

This a permanent full time role. This role offers the flexibility to work from your preferred location, whether that is your home or our LWB offices. There will be occasions when you will be expected to work from the office. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop a team of 16 Shared Services Finance Officers to enable them to deliver to the best of their ability
  • Build a high performing team by facilitating workshops, maintaining one to one meetings with staff and leading team meetings
  • Manage high volume of transactional workloads including invoice processing and payments to carers and contractors
  • Develop and maintain documentation and user guides and other training manuals for Procure to payment processes
  • Analyse procure to payment transactions to identify variations to established processes, recommend improvement and implement approved actions
  • Be the escalation point for customer complaints
  • Prepare of monthly, yearly and other periodic accounting reconciliations
  • Assist in developing effective processes within Finance Transactional Services
  • Establish and undertake compliance protocols to ensure accurate information
  • Develop, implement and monitor Finance Transactional Services service level agreements
  • Actively contribute to managing change and support the implementation of organisational projects, strategies and initiatives

Skills & Experience 

  • Degree level qualifications in Business, Accounting or similar, or demonstrated equivalent experience a high volume, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a high performing team Demonstrated experience in procurement to pay functions such as accounts payable or procurement within a high volume, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and to deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes and quality standards
  • Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • The ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and implement change to wide group of stakeholders
  • High level communication skills with an attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience using a computerised accounting system

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
