Job Summary:

We are looking for a people leader to join us a Facility Supervisor to work in one of our most prestigious data centers in Mascot. You role will be to lead a team of Facility Engineers and ensure we maintain our up time of 99.9999%. Coming from a Electrical or Mechanical background you will supervise the IBX Engineers and IBX site. Assist with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance and will typically have 2-3 years of people management experience and is fully proficient with each of the responsibilities indicated:

Responsibilities

Management

  • Supervises IBX Engineers to ensure that the duties they are undertaking are carried out in a timely manner and projects are progressing as expected
  • Manages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and development

Site Capacity Management

  • Overall site capacity supervision

Project/Infrastructure Management

  • Plans, coordinates, budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center
  • Provides input and guidance towards budget

Vendor Management

  • Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards

Testing

  • Assists with start up tests, documenting and reporting all problems

Incident Management

Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident

Qualifications

  • 5+ years solid experience within a facility engineer or mission critical role
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage conflict
  • Trade qualified or relevant degree
  • Able to perform all essential job functions, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work days/nights/weekends/holidays, if needed and/or required. Please note this is a business hours role with a on call roster.
  • Able to lift heavy equipment/items up to 50 pounds
