What's your mission? Here at ANZ, platform engineering is about delivering a seamless developer experience at scale through working with the rest of the technology in an innovative, adaptive and agile way. This means you will get to:
- Solve for problems and issues that matter. Youll work on providing leadership to make an impact to engineers and developers. You will do this using a laser focus on automation, cloud and DevOps engineering techniques to design to provide secure, simple and impactful solutions.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Cloud Engineer working within Platform Engineering, you will be responsible for building and evolving our offering with hands on design, configuration and coding. You will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of products touching on IaC, cloud services, cluster management, service mesh, CI/CD, SRE and observability tooling. The Platform Engineering team is responsible for abstracting the complexities of the cloud, so that features can move from development to production in a seamless, secure and fully automated manner. If you are passionate about turning the dial on our customers digital experience by provisioning a first-class software supply chain then this role is for you!
What will be in your toolkit?
- Expert working knowledge with GCP gained from hands on implementation delivered to production.
- Expert working knowledge of Kubernetes with a laser focus on keeping workloads secure.
- Expert working knowledge of containers/docker
- Experience with provisioning IaC pipelines and automation using Terraform/Cloudformation.
- Experience with provisioning application pipelines to facilitate canary and blue / green deployments.
- Operational experience with development or the administration of service mesh technologies like Istio
- Strong understanding of the infrastructure level VPCs, networks, Linux and/or Windows OS.
- Strong understanding of the importance of Developer Experience, SRE and Cloud Native engineering principles.
- Passionate about the adoption of DevOps and Agile practices, at scale, in Engineering Teams.
- Knowledgeable in multiple programming languages, preferably Golang/Python, shell scripting and a passion to automate as much as possible.
- Demonstrated ability to create observable systems leveraging tools like dynatrace, splunk, stack driver, pagerduty etc.
